Galaxy signs five-year deal with Herbalife

David Beckham and his Los Angeles Galaxy teammates will promote a nutritional products manufacturer in his first MLS season. AEG, operators of the Galaxy, announced the signing of a five-year, multimillion sponsorship contract with Herbalife Ltd. on Friday, giving the direct-sales company the right to showcase its brand name across the front of the team jersey.

Revolution's Noonan to have surgery for sports hernia

New England Revolution forward Pat Noonan will have surgery in Germany on Wednesday to repair a sports hernia. Noonan is expected to be sidelined for up to three weeks. The Revolution's season opener is April 7 against Chicago. Noonan sustained the injury on his left side Friday while training with the team in Mexico, the team said Tuesday.

Major League Soccer and Bundesliga team up to improve U.S. game

Major League Soccer is teaming up with Germany's Bundesliga to promote the sport in the United States and exchange knowledge on stadium construction and player development. The cooperation may also include exhibition games or tournaments in the United States, but no players or funding will be exchanged under the deal announced Tuesday during the SportelAmerica convention in Miami Beach.
