Gordon lifts Bulls by Pacers 92-90

Ben Gordon was just warming up when he drained a buzzer-beating jumper at the end of the third quarter. Gordon's spinning fadeaway from just inside the paint with 2.8 seconds left in regulation lifted the Chicago Bulls to a 92-90 win over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. When Indiana guard Jamaal Tinsley missed with 16 seconds left and the score tied at 90, Gordon got the chance he wanted.

Sonics' Allen to miss rest of season

Seattle SuperSonics' All-Star guard Ray Allen will miss the rest of the regular season after deciding to undergo surgery for bone spurs in his left ankle. "It makes sense for Ray to go forward and have the surgery," Sonics' general manager Rick Sund said on Sunday. Wolves' Garnett beats Blazers at buzzer

After watching a rookie rivalry blossom, Kevin Garnett proclaimed that Randy Foye and Brandon Roy will one day be "something to be reckoned with." Maybe like Garnett is right now. Garnett's 15-foot fadeaway jumper at the buzzer lifted the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 94-93 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.

Short-handed Pistons pound Bucks 121-95

Rasheed Wallace was suspended, Richard Hamilton was out sick and Chris Webber wasn't feeling much better. The Detroit Pistons responded with their second-biggest scoring outburst of the season. Tayshaun Prince scored 28 points, and reserves Jason Maxiell, Antonio McDyess and Flip Murray also looked unstoppable at times and the Pistons cruised to a 121-95 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday.

Arenas admonished by NBA for fan bets

Gilbert Arenas was admonished by the NBA for making $10 bets with fans during the Washington Wizards' loss at Portland on Wednesday. "We spoke to Gilbert and explained the issue to him," NBA spokesman John Acunto said Sunday. "And he assured us he wouldn't do anything like this again." Arenas made the bets as he bantered with fans throughout the Wizards' 100-98 loss.
